PlanSwift or zzTakeoff?
Start with your workflow.

Both can help you measure digital drawings. The better fit depends on your existing setup, how your team works and what needs to happen after the takeoff.

Check current versions, subscription entitlements and requirements before choosing. A comparison on your own work is more useful than a feature count.

Try the same small scope in both.

Use a familiar drawing

Choose a completed job with quantities you can check. Keep the scope small enough to review properly.

Follow the complete handover

Measure, organise and export the information your pricing process needs. Include the review rather than stopping at the first quantity.

Record the setup effort

Note which templates, working practices and training need to change. Include this in your decision alongside licence costs.

Moving an existing PlanSwift workflow?

zzTakeoff can import basic project and takeoff information, but its current import guide says formulas, formula parts and assemblies need rebuilding. Check the current capabilities before planning a move.

Inventory what matters

List the jobs, templates, custom properties and calculations your team relies on. Keep the original files.

Test one real job

Import a copy and compare drawing links, quantities, units and organisation against the source.

Check the priced result

Rebuild unsupported formulas, then verify the output and review process before changing the team’s everyday workflow.

Agree who signs off the sample. Keep PlanSwift available until the result meets your requirements.

Common questions.

Should an experienced PlanSwift team move to zzTakeoff?

Not automatically. First identify the problem you need to solve, review the existing setup and test the proposed workflow.

Can PlanSwift templates move straight into zzTakeoff?

Do not assume a complete transfer. The vendor migration guide describes limitations, including formulas and assemblies that may need rebuilding. Test a representative sample first.

Can you help us choose?

Yes. We work with both products and can review your team, drawings, current templates and required output.
